SOWING CALENDAR
The Ibicencan farmer is capable of turning our red soil, so fertile and full of life, into a producer of a great variety of products such as red potatoes, tomatoes, onions, peppers and cabbages, as well as the best fruits such as watermelons and melons. The dry landscape does not deter farmers as long as they have access to water sources or wells.
In addition, the island's warm climate allows for year-round cultivation, although the best times for production are late spring and summer, when the rich tomatoes and watermelons are grown. During the cooler months of the year, the land turns green with cabbages, spring onions, lettuce and broad beans.
